Jewelry that approximates ancient and rudimentary techniques to ethereal concepts
Beatriz Jardinha is a Portuguese designer creating jewelry that approximates ancient and rudimentary techniques to ethereal concepts. Enamored with both the inherent creativity of design as well as the rich, many times forgotten, heritage of craftsmanship, Beatriz Jardinha started her career in the world of design and fashion. It was at an internship at London-based label Faustine Steinmetz that she first caught a glimpse of how craftsmanship (weaving in Faustine’s case) could be rescued and elevated through design not only with a touch of innovation, but also introducing sustainable production models.
Above any formal training, a free-spirited and wandering disposition towards life has informed Jardinha’s creative path; Jewelry was first explored by her during extended travels to both India and Peru where she had the opportunity to learn silversmith and filigree techniques from old masters in immersive experiences.
