Piattini Davanguardia, specializing in third-fire ceramic decoration, was founded in 2017 by Annagina Totaro and Andrea Cardano. Gina, 37, left her career as an advertising graphic designer to turn her hobby of decorating into a full-time job.

Initially an online-only business, Piattini Davanguardia opened its first labstore in Bari in 2021. Here, their creations are made and sold on-site, as well as in over 20 affiliated outlets across Italy. The company also offers decoration courses locally and in various cities nationwide.

While rooted in the centuries-old tradition of ceramics, Piattini Davanguardia adds a contemporary edge to craftsmanship with modern designs. Their amusing and irreverent products address current events, social issues, and sexuality with marked cynicism and irony. Each item is hand-decorated and can be customized to the customer's preference.

Since its inception, the company has collaborated with notable national and international brands such as Novi, Cameo, Wiko, and Condé Nast. Piattini Davanguardia has been featured in several prestigious publications, including AD Italia, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, La Repubblica, and Donna Moderna.
