Every single thing has human hands (involved) in it, the celebration of human hands is really important as we merge the instant, fast world and it's really important to talk about the slow world as well. They need to co-exist.

GATTI was established in 2019 by Francesca Gatti. With a clear aesthetic and uncompromising sense of style, she sources the finest materials and works closely with the master carpenters to carefully craft each of her raw basket collections - that arose from Francesca's personal interpretation of the most legendary Panier worn by Jane Birkin, an icon and inspiration in terms of style and lifestyle for the brand.

Her grandmother's baskets collection preserved over the years in the designer's Umbrian country house, gave shape to the idea that an artisanal object could become a fashion item. At the same time, after 10 years of experience as Fashion Buyer, it was interesting to see how at a certain point a new emerging space for raw materials and craftsmanship was appearing on the market.

That began the search for local artisanal productions in the Italian regions where the handmade art of weaving is kept alive - turning a simple item like the wicker basket into a multi-seasonal accessory for the modern woman, always on the go.
