A variety of techniques

The processing of ceramics is very diverse. Techniques like slab building, press molding, and slip casting are employed. Shaped clay is slowly dried and fired at 1000°C to create a porous material for glass powder. After the initial firing, pieces can be glazed and fired again for a glossy, impermeable finish. The entire process takes many hours and up to three weeks, with high temperatures transforming powders into glass.
