Designing with ropes & knots . Playing with colors & textures.

BRAIDA by Noémia Zancuoghi is a contemporary textile art studio founded in 2020 in Lagos, Portugal. Created by Italian-Portuguese artist Noémia Zancuoghi, the brand reflects her deep connection to craftsmanship, material exploration, and emotional expression through design.

Born in Lisbon and raised between the Algarve and northern Italy, Noémia developed an early affinity for the arts and a strong desire to create with her hands. After several years living abroad, returning to the Algarve marked a turning point in her journey, where she discovered textile art as her primary medium. What began with macramé evolved into a distinctive artistic language that reinterprets traditional techniques through a contemporary and minimalist lens.

At BRAIDA, each piece is entirely handmade and conceived as a dialogue between texture, form, and color. Noémia's work explores form, scale, and composition in a subtle and refined way, with a focus on clean lines, geometric structures, and tactile richness. Her creations transform environments into meaningful visual experiences, designed to interact with the surrounding space. Drawing inspiration from nature, abstract art, fashion, and architecture, she creates compositions that add depth and identity to the work.
