A young and cutting-edge project, Modellando Arte was born from an ambitious idea where creativity, craftsmanship, and a love for art come together. Florence, the birthplace of the project, has proven to be a fertile ground for ideas and creativity, but above all, it has been a source of inspiration for Francesca, the founder of Modellando Arte. The artist trained through courses and pathways with expert ceramicists, also opening herself to other cultures – such as the Oriental one – further bringing out her desire to refine her techniques and skills, absorbing as much as possible from both national and international artistic and cultural beauty.

Hand-building techniques only

Each piece is entirely handmade, without the use of a wheel, employing techniques such as slab building and coiling. After shaping, the piece is left to dry and fired at 980°C. Francesca creates unique glazes and hand-decorates each creation. After the second firing at 1250°C, the pieces are ready.

Can I wash the pieces in a dishwasher?

Although we recommend hand washing for longevity, it is still possible to wash the pieces in a dishwasher since stoneware clay is highly durable.

What inspired the blue crackle glaze in your creations?

The blue crackle glaze was inspired by the natural beauty of ocean waves and the vast sky. Francesca wanted to capture the sense of tranquility and depth that the color blue evokes, combined with the intricate crackle effect that adds a unique texture and character to each piece.
