Béatrice grew up in Corsica, facing the Mediterranean, surrounded by the talismans Corsicans give at birth and the red coral passed down from mother to daughter. Moved by these family traditions, she founded Casalucia in 2023 with a simple idea: to turn these age-old good-luck charms into jewellery you want to wear every day. Inspired by the sea, the island’s light and Mediterranean symbols of protection (the coral branch, the horned hand, the eye of Saint Lucia), she creates talismans that protect, accompany and tell a story.

Technique

Each piece is made by hand, one by one, in the Casalucia workshop in Ajaccio. Béatrice and her small team select every coral and stone, then thread, knot and assemble them on silk thread or gold-filled chains. A thread bracelet takes around an hour; an Abysses piece, entirely hand-beaded, takes several hours.
