Egal Ceramiche tells a story of heritage, artistry, and modern vision.

Martina, from Romagna, chose a bold path: instead of a corporate office, she embraced her family legacy at Ceramiche Lega in Faenza, crafting one-of-a-kind pieces with her grandfather Leandro and mother Carla.

In May 2023, a devastating flood submerged the workshop under meters of mud. Elisa, also from Romagna and living in Milan, rushed to help. Together, they rescued the ceramics and restored the space, turning disaster into a new beginning.

From this blend of heritage, courage, and resilience, Egal Ceramiche was born—its name an anagram of Ceramiche Lega and a nod to the Romagna rooster, “E’gàl.”

Technique

Ceramic with reduction technique using oxides and luster: fumes are released inside the kiln, which alter the colors of the objects’ surfaces. This process makes it possible to achieve nuanced, iridescent chromatic effects, with tones ranging across the entire spectrum of copper: from green to black, from red to light blue.

Absolutely. The glazes are designed to withstand daily use and are dishwasher-safe. And truly, using them every day is what brings them to life.
