MERIEM ANTARI & GUILA GANEM
Paris, France

Studio 464, is a Parisian based ceramics brand, founded by two friends and architects, Meriem and Guila.

Driven by the same passion for interior design and tableware art, they designed a first collection of ceramics with colorful and joyful accents, rooted in Mediterranean influence and culture.
Meriem and Guila learned the essence of hospitality bathed in Mediterranean culture. To clarify, a culture where family feasts frequently led to discussions where several languages were intertwined. But also a place where at any time of the day, a lunch or a dinner could be improvised with more people than chairs available.

At Studio 464, Meriem and Guila imagine and design each ceramic inspired by cities facing the Mediterranean sea. Hand drawing and hand painting each plate allows them to reflect on the shape and the colour and capture the essence of the city.

Capturing the essence of the city

Meriem and Guila imagine and design each ceramic. They start with a sketch inspired by the Mediterranean city the plate represents.
Hand drawing and hand painting each plate allows them to reflect on the shape and the colour and capture the essence of the city.

Handmade in a Family Workshop

They work closely with a family workshop to produce these unique ceramics. First, Luiz, a talented craftsman who has been making and painting these ceramics for over 50 years, makes the form through ceramic molding, then he puts it out to dry in the sunshine, before firing in the oven. He, then, varnishes it and paints the design. It then goes to the oven one last time.
This process makes each piece is unique, and that’s what they love about it. Imperfections make it so special.

Combination and contrast of colours

The founders are fascinated by the contrast of colours and spontaneously combined shapes that create warm Mediterranean objects. Their collection was designed to be an ode to the Mediterranean culture.

You might wonder...

Are these plates decorative or can I use them to serve food?

Do serve food on these! 😋
All the glazed ceramics are food safe, and all glazes are lead and cadmium free.

How can i choose the plate size?

The platter is the one you'll love to present the most delicious dishes and will find its place at the center of the table.

The large plate is perfect for serving the main course and can even be used as a presentation plate.

The small plate is ideal for presenting your starters to share such as tapas, mezzé or whatever you like. It is also suitable for individual starters or as a dessert plate.
